Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts submitted to IJPR are original work and must not be under simultaneous consideration by any other journal or publication. Every submission is screened using plagiarism-detection software before entering peer review.

What Counts as Plagiarism

• Verbatim plagiarism: copying text from another source without quotation marks and citation.
• Mosaic/patchwork plagiarism: weaving together phrases from a source with minor word substitutions, without adequate rewriting or citation.
• Paraphrasing without attribution: restating another author's ideas or findings closely without crediting the original source.
• Self-plagiarism (redundant publication): reusing substantial portions of the author's own previously published text, data, or findings without disclosure and appropriate citation.
• Uncredited data or figures: reproducing tables, figures, or datasets from another source without permission and citation.

Screening Process

Manuscripts are checked for textual similarity against published literature and web content using plagiarism-detection software as part of the editorial screening stage, before being sent to reviewers. Manuscripts showing substantial unoriginal content are returned to the corresponding author for explanation or revision before proceeding, and may be rejected outright depending on severity.

Post-Publication Discovery

If plagiarism is identified after an article has been published, the matter is investigated following COPE's guidelines (see the Publication Ethics and Misconduct Policy). Outcomes may include a published correction, an expression of concern, or retraction — see the Correction and Retraction Policy.

Author Responsibility

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all necessary permissions have been obtained for any third-party material reproduced in their manuscript (quotations beyond fair use, figures, tables, images), and that this is stated in the manuscript.
